Akari (red cold) and Niko (red child) Silk print exploration by Kristjana S Williams.
For years Kristjana has been collecting books on Japanese woodcuts and silk printing. Everything about the style appeals to the graceful graphical sensibilities their personal features and moods, no one in my eyes does landscapes better and their intricacy of carving are considered miracles of sculpture. The collage here is a very gentle re-imagining the portrait of a Japanese mother and child and another of a Japanese woman with a sun shield as they are famed for their beautiful skin whom peter to portray this then the lear birds. The originals where very delicate silk painted prints that had to be photographed as when they where taken out of the glass frame they started to evaporate.
