International Artist Raises Money for Parkinsons UK

Internationally renowned artist Alex Echo has garnered the attention of some of the world’s top corporations, institutions and celebrities as collectors.

A plethora of commissions and demand for his contemporary artwork are plentiful including a collaboration with designer Paul Smith, by request of Eric Clapton, to paint a bespoke guitar for charity and has sold works to celebrities including Madonna, Elton John and Oprah Winfrey among others.

2019 saw Alex’s world turn upside down with the diagnoses of Parkinson’s.  Never one to give up, Alex faced adversity head on and took on his creative talents in the digital world when he could no longer use a brush to paint.  It goes without saying  how honoured we are to offer the work by such an outstanding artist who has relentlessly raised money for various charities, as well as great pride to work alongside Alex to raise further awareness and much needed funds for Parkinson’s UK.

Alex now works with various substrates from sustainable paper and maple, silver foil and brushed aluminium to perspex, life sized 3D painting and Lenticular, Alex is free to create in any direction.

"The universe in no uncertain terms told me I had said all I could say with paint... but gave me a new and unlimited medium and palette."

“I don’t hide the fact that there is a digital aspect to my work, in fact I celebrate it.  Pixelated remnants usually exposes just enough to compliment the narrative.

I’m not perfect, the art doesn't pretend to be perfect, art is not science, it’s messy, uses different mediums, it puts on a brave face and goes out into the world.”… Alex Echo

"The will to make art, is the will to live!” Artist Alex Echo has said amidst his Parkinson’s diagnosis. Parkinson’s is the second most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimers, unfortunately meaning that huge numbers of people around the world suffer daily with the condition, and yet there is no cure.

Causing a lack of motor-skills and uncontrollable shaking, to name a few symptoms, many may think of actor Michael J Fox who has been vocal in discussing the condition and has set up a foundation to find a cure for the disease. It has been said that the true measure of a person is not in the cards that they are dealt but in how they use them.
