Taken from an original Japanese silk screen print, this gentle re-imagining of a portrait of a Japanese woman, and a mother with her child, reflects the elegant grace of the Japanese style and the way that women were represented and celebrated in art. The elegant heads of two white Lear parrots evoke flawless ivory skin, and look demurely away from the creator, creating an aura of mystery untouched by the world outside their confines.
