Named after a Tanzanian river, this stirring hand-varnished boxed canvas by Robert Oxley boasts psychedelic colours that form sharp points around the lion’s mane and slowly drip down the canvas.

Emerging from a dark black background, the contrasting colours of bright blue and fiery red indicate the passion Robert has for protecting endangered big cats, working with organisations like The Big Cat Sanctuary. Robert says: “I like using river names for my cats because rivers are the lifeblood of the earth, carrying water and food. Often found near rivers, big cats are at the top of the food chain and are crucial for the regulation of animal populations and the preservation of plant life and the ecosystem.”
